Crossing the divide from summer into autumn can be a little tricky, wardrobe-wise. When it's too cold for bare legs but too warm for coats, and the sun is blazing but the shops are full of boots and gloves, some of the autumn/winter campaigns can seem somewhat incongruous. That's what I love about this Topshop shoot: to my mind it perfectly captures trans-seasonal dressing. Shot in Sussex, it epitomises that quintessentially British "cold day on a beach" look: coats with bare legs; chunky ankle boots against hints of lace; mismatched layers teamed with windswept hair. It's a little on the grungy side, but still very wearable: perfect for creating my September wish list.
